Valentine's Day 2021 Ideas

09 / Feb / 2021 - Category: News

Valentine’s day is fast approaching and if you are stuck for stay-at-home date night ideas, look no further! Normally, we see our local bars, pubs and restaurants fully booked as they welcome couples to celebrate the most romantic date in their diaries. Despite the slight change of circumstances, we have some fabulous date ideas that you can enjoy from the comfort of your own home.

  1. Spa

Create the perfect spa break on Valentine’s day with your loved one. The Malvern Spa is one of top choices for any special occasion but for now they have  closed their doors. However, that doesn’t mean that you can’t create an atmospheric evening with indulgent treats like these Elemis essentials from John Lewis. With a wide range of bath and body pamper products and luxurious bathrobes and fluffy towels, you can bring the relaxing feel of a spa to your own bathroom.

2. Drive through TikTok trend

Indecisive about what to eat? The TikTok “four course meal challenge” trend is an absolute winner. This challenge consists of four rounds: drinks, starters, mains, and dessert! Each course starts with a quick game of rock, paper, scissors with the winner choosing which restaurant to collect from.

 3. Take a trip down memory lane

A cheaper yet sentimental date idea is to take a trip down memory lane. Take a look back on some of your favourite photographed memories with your significant other with a customised photo book using the online printing service, FreePrints. You can even challenge each other's memory by placing them in chronological order! What better way to reminisce back to the honeymoon period?!

4. Bake

On your marks, get set, BAKE! If you’re missing the GBBO like we are, why not bake a tasty treat together or even for each other? Challenge yourself with the technical bakes of the Great British Bake Off series.

5. Cocktail Making

Raise a glass to each other and have a fun night of cocktail-making in the kitchen. BBC Good Food has an entire list of easy to follow guides to ace the classic bar favourites. If you enjoy this date night idea, why not book a cocktail masterclass with Virgin experiences, bookings are still open and it will be something to look forward to!

6. Movie night

Why not keep it classic with a chilled out movie night? You can now turn any room into a cinema-like experience by pairing your smartphone streaming app with a miniature projector from amazon. So, grab the popcorn and hit play and don’t forget to wear your favourite pair of pj’s for the occasion too.

7. Cards

Create a home casino and challenge each other with a few games of Rummy or BlackJack. We all know that couples card games are best partnered with a tasty cheese board and bottle of wine to share too.

8. Wedding Video

Approaching a wedding anniversary milestone? Look back on your favourite captured moments together and get romantic by re-reading your wedding vows to each other. Be sure to get the tissues at the ready if this is post-cocktails!

9. Theatre

We do miss seeing the hustle and bustle of people leaving The Malvern Theatres after an evening show. Why not bring the performance arts to your home and dress up for the occasion? Be sure to schedule in an ice cream interval to give it the authentic feel too!

10. Send a few sweet treats

The Little Graze Company has some incredible tasty treats ready for you to collect or get delivered to your front door. Choose from deluxe cheese and meat platters, a dainty tea for two or their valentines “brie mine” cheese board special which includes champagne and chocolate truffles for dessert!

11. Brighten their day with a bouquet!

Although many shops have had to unfortunately close their doors, they have managed to keep their business running with home deliveries and click and collect. For example, Petals Florist is a family-run business based in Malvern that now delivers a wide range of beautiful arrangements for every occasion.

12. Photoshoot at your door

We have been truly inspired by Dearest Love’s creativity of a “door step” photoshoot. Dearest Love photography have teamed up with May Rose Floral design to create an intimate styled shoot that takes place on your very own doorstep. You can add beautiful floral arrangements and get dressed up for the occasion too!
