The beautiful day started with preparing our Gryphon Room for the reception and Memorial Library for the ceremony. Flowers were in place ready for their wedding ceremony, filling the room with gorgeous floral scents.
With everything set up and ready and final touches in place courtesy of the events team, it wasn't long until Robert and guests made their way up the steps into our intimate ceremony room, where they awaited the bride's arrival. Rachel and her bridal party arrived in the couple's beloved vintage silver VW campervan! The bridesmaids wore navy lace dresses, carrying a beautiful array of autumnal flowers. Rachel kept it classic with a lace ivory gown, accessorising with delicate white roses in her hair.
The bridesmaids lead the way down the aisle one by one to Ed Sheeran's "Tenerife Sea" and the bride followed with her Dad arm in arm, a truly touching moment.
Following the ceremony, the guests joined the bride and groom on St George's terrace for photographs and a glass of fizz with Rachel & Robert's dog! Guests shortly made their way to the Gryphon Room for an afternoon tea reception, with a fantastic drinks reception courtesy of Marvellous Medicine. Rob & Rachel followed all the guests to the Gryphon Room with Dearest Love Photography close by capturing every moment.
The Gryphon Room was dressed with ivory marquee linings by West Country Marquees and tables were decorated with Rachel & Robert's centrepiece creations and wedding favours, which were mapped out by a brilliant penny-farthing table plan. All wedding stationary was specially designed and crafted by Kathryn at Poppy Kate Press which included place cards, menus, chalkboards and welcome sign. Cycling is such a big part of Rob and Rachel's life which is why they chose the bicycle theme for their special day, this included their very own rickshaw bike photo booth and tables were named after the places Rob and Rachel cycled to.
Everyone tucked into a delicious traditonal afternoon tea selection on fine white china, which included mini poppy seed bagels filled with smoked salmon & cream cheese, leek and Caerphilly cheese tartlets, spelt & cheddar scones and red onion marmalade pork sausage rolls. Keeping it traditional, the couple opted for homemade scones, fresh strawberries, clotted cream and jam which was served on our silver tea stands along with other sweet treats.
Everyone then topped up their glass ready for the heart-warming speeches from Rachel's Dad and Robert before the evening entertainment arrived.
Rachel and Rob's first dance was to "Twist & Shout" by The Beatles which they prepared a dance sequence to. Their chosen band, City Folk played an array of fantastic songs as evening guests arrived. As the night went on, so many guests joined in with the dancing, it was good news to hear Marvellous Pizza were on time to deliver delicious pizzas.
After pizza and wedding cake, everyone was ready for a group photo with sparklers which created the best lighting for Dearest Love's photo opportunity.
Music and cheer filled our Gryphon Room all night until it was time to wave off the new Mr and Mrs Nicholls.
We thoroughly enjoyed hosting Rob and Rachel's wedding day and wish them a very happy life together as husband and wife.
